| Having worked so hard in the past few (to use the term loosely) months, each sale of a copy of Issue 1 has proven to be very rewarding. Online sales have proven to be the best fit for our audience, as there doesn't seem to be a single area where we sell, but spread out across the continental US (along with some pending overseas sales) we do seem to be filling a reasonable niche in the market. Sadly, due to some minor issues and complications, we're going to be sticking to a limited run with GRAVE DEMAND #1 (which makes it a collectable, buy yours now while supplies last!), as we work towards refining our methodology and updating this web site. A lot of it has to do with acknowledging our limitations with resources, though I'm glad to say our previously-mentioned "dwindled staff" is being refilled with enthusiastic and talented individuals. We've been considering other options, in order to meet the DEMAND (I thought it was funny), and perhaps offer an even more friendly alternative to our audience. A direct downloadable magazine, which should allow us to increase our impossible-to-guess release schedule. It would be slightly trimmed down, but formatting for a PDF as opposed to Print could allow for additional options as well, and at a significantly lower price point for those that are suffering through this economy of ours, but don't want to miss out. This abridged version, tentatively titled "GRAVE DEMAND: Open Casket" would begin with a reprint of most of the same content as our premier issue (after we check with our initial contributors), along with some alternate content. This would become our main "publication", and the physical print would take a semi-annual release, containing our favorite content (I would say "best of", but everyone has their own taste) from the GRAVE DEMAND: Open Casket issues. And for those that have already purchased Issue 1, don't worry. You will be eligible for a free copy of GRAVE DEMAND: Open Casket #1 when it is released, in gratitude for the early support you've given us. -Adam Andrews |

In Memory of Kenn Kroosaficks
| We had mentioned in our last post over two weeks ago that we were going to be making more of an effort to keep people updated and informed on our progress. We had planned on another update last week, including some locations where Grave Demand is now available. Unfortunately, there was an event that put things on hold. One of our first contributors and biggest supporters, Kenneth Kroosaficks, passed away recently. We had put everything on hold that we could so that we could make proper preparations, to mourn and cope with his loss. Kenn had seen a digital version of the entire magazine before it went to print, and though we had been making efforts to get him a contributor copy the past few weeks, he unfortunately never had seen the final result in his own hands. We were able to personally give a copy of the magazine to his family. We have published his article on this site for all to view, as appropriate a testament as we can provide from Grave Demand. More personal thoughts and outlooks will be said from individuals among us, but I want to make it a point to not take any action here that can be mistaken as exploiting his passing. Although knowing him, he would actually encourage such an act. We merely felt that we should share his article, so that those that knew him, but had no intention of purchasing a copy before, could still see and enjoy his work. I was very proud to include the article in our first issue. A Tale from the Blakside is an interview with performer Gypsy Blak, of whom Kenn was a huge fan, and had also forged a friendship over the course. I can also report that Gypsy has dedicated an upcoming performance in his honor. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Kenn’s family and friends. |
